Since 1859, Verveine du Velay is an emblem of the gastronomic heritage of the Auvergne.
The distillery Pages opens wide its doors to the public, and invited him to enter its universe secret, tinged with tradition, history and authenticity.
TERROIR AND TRADITION
The distillery Verveine du Velay has always manufactured in its terroir of origin, Velay, its famous liquor. A base of over thirty plants - including verbena, fully grown on the Monts du Velay-, its formula was discovered in 1859 by an apothecary of engineering, Joseph Rumillet Charretier.
Today, master distillers faithfully reproduce the know-how transmitted several generations and perpetuate an age-old tradition in manufacturing in the distillery Verveine du Velay, as well as other liqueurs and regional aperitifs.
DEVELOPMENT

Long and many are manufacturing steps that lead to the Verveine du Velay, green, yellow, or Extra... all are explained.
Meanwhile, the five senses are put in wake... Among these steps, the distillation: in the room where its seven large stills of red copper, atmosphere a mysterious... where the smells of plants alongside the alcohol vapours, in a most amazing of alchemies.
VISIT' EXPO - TASTING
The secrets of the Verveine du Velay Pages are revealed during a guided tour. There you can learn all the business of bar: followed by the course of plants, their slow transformation into liquor. On an interactive Terminal, it is possible to talk about those who hold the memory of Verveine du Velay.
At the end of the guided tour, you enter the exhibition: we view objects belonging to the private collection of the distillery, and the Plaza de Verveine du Velay in gastronomy.
Then a tasting of Verveine du Velay can enjoy liquor rightly. Finally, for most great pleasure of each distillery Pages products are offered in shop.
