Monistrol Castle was mentioned for the first time in 1165 and was acquired in 1270 by the Bishops of Puy, which he was until the Revolution the summer residence.
During the reign of Louis XIV, the fortress was turned into a castle for the approval, as evidenced by its majestic facade.

Shortly before the Revolution, the magnificent ramp which adorns the interior staircase was forged. Recently restored, the bishops castle dominates the city of Monistrol de its two towers from the 15th century.

You can see exceptional statues from the 16th century, as well as an exciting exhibition on diseases and medicines over the ages.
